We exist to provide award-winning hospice care for your family, friends, and neighbors across central Texas. Our wish is for anyone who encounters us to be better for the experience. Our Care Team

The Hospice Brazos Valley care team are experts in providing comfort and caring when life is limited. You can rely on them to listen and respond quickly to your unique needs. Your hospice care team will be comprised of a doctor, nurse, social worker, hospice care aid, grief expert, volunteer, and chaplain. Each member of your care team are experts in their field and provide the knowledge, wisdom and caring you need most during difficult times. Our doctors also make house calls for hospice patients. If you do not have an attending physician, our Medical Director can manage your care.

Hospice Medical Directors

Hospice Brazos Valley employs a Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Borgstedte, D.O., and Associate Medical Director, Dr. Steven Higginbotham, M.D., who provide consultation, support, and supplemental services for your primary physician. Our doctors also make house calls for hospice patients. If you do not have an attending physician, our Medical Director can manage your care.

Executive Team

Hospice Brazos Valley began when a group of community health-focused individuals gathered together with a singular purpose: to create the first hospice organization serving patients and families in the Brazos Valley. Innovative and experienced leadership has been the driving force behind Hospice Brazos Valley’s continued excellence in hospice care. Our executive team, pictured left, has a combined 90+ years of experience in both healthcare and hospice. They also share a passion for serving the community and caring for people which leads each of them to serve on numerous boards and as educators in their fields.

Amanda Burnett

COO & Vice-President

Brings 20 years of skilled nursing experience working as both a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator and VP of Operations. Passion for supporting patients, families, and industry professionals through serving on a Governor appointed advisory committee, as a Certified Grief Counselor, and Certified Private Professional Guardian.

Lisa McNair, CPA

CEO & President

Brings 25 years of hospital experience working both as VP of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. Enjoys helping care for people by sharing her finance expertise through her roles as an adjunct professor and serving on numerous boards and committees.

Tami Bolton

CFO & Vice-President

Brings 25 years of healthcare financial experience to Hospice Brazos Valley. Serving in various financial roles in a large healthcare system. Actively serves on another non-profit healthcare board.
