Two friends embracing in comfort.

Grief Support

Hospice Brazos Valley offers help to bereaving family members who need a safe space to grieve their loved ones lost, and to feel supported during their grief journey. Grief is a deep sorrow from losing a family member to death. However, grief can also be from the loss of a pet, a friendship, or divorce.

bereavement programs

Hospice Brazos Valley’s bereavement program offers a variety of ways to feel supported while going through your grief journey. Hospice Brazos Valley offers individual support and family grief support; both before and after the death of a loved one. Our Bereavement program includes education about the grief process, and guidelines for developing healthy coping skills that lead to healing through our grief. The following are some of the ways we can help you through your grief journey:

Individual or family grief bereavement support for all ages

a monthly support group for those who are grieving their loved one

A monthly support group for those who Care Give for their loved one

Beyond Grief - a six week class offered several times per year

A monthly support group for widows and widowers

Periodic support groups for parents who have lost a child of any age

Holiday’s Without You – a meeting held every Fall to help family members navigate their lost loved one throughout the holidays

Service of Remembrance – a memorial program held every Winter to honor families who have lost a loved one

Couple embracing in cozy setting.

Bereavement support is available to everyone in the community whether or not Hospice Brazos Valley provided medical services. All programs are free to attend. For those participants in need of on-going grief therapy, Hospice Brazos Valley can provide referrals to licensed counselors in the area.

Program descriptions and further information are available by calling the Bereavement Coordinator at any of our three locations; Bryan, TX, Brenham, TX, and La Grange, TX.

Grief can be a multitude of emotions. Join me as I walk along side you in your grief journey, by creating a safe space to express your grief, and to talk about your loved one. In doing so, emotional support will be provided and help you connect with others who have experienced similar losses.
